Hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day holiday. In case you’ve been on vacation or have not heard, there are a few things going on this month that may be of interest.

Are you an Architect, Landscape Architect, or Planner in need of professional education credits? Then you should attend the UDC Talks lecture entitled “Tailored Infrastructure: Opportunities in Raleigh.” The event will be held at noon on Wednesday, September 16, at the Raleigh Urban Design Center (UDC) and features speakers Jedidiah Gant & Sara Queen of Myriad Media/NCSU. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Attendees are welcome to bring their lunch. Highlights from the session will be tweeted @RaleighPlanning #UDCtalks.

And if you are interested in the future of the South Saunders and South Wilmington Street Corridors, also known as the Southern Gateway to Raleigh (see blog photo), plan to attend a workshop on Tuesday, September 22, at the Wake Tech Public Safety Campus located at 321 Chapanoke Road. The workshop will run from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in rooms 1425 and 1427. The goal of the workshop is to gather valuable feedback on the emerging design ideas. Members of the design team, along with Urban Design Center staff, will kick off the workshop with a short presentation including a summary of previous community meetings and information about future presentations. A number of interactive stations will be set up for discussion of key design and planning elements.

Lastly, we will be working on updates to our forms and applications during the next few months. I will send out periodic updates as edits are made. Be sure to check out our Forms Directory for all the latest versions of our forms and applications.

I am constantly planning future blog posts and welcome your input as it relates to the subject. So if you have any specific questions, or would like additional information about a process or service, please let me know!

Thanks for reading and have a nice week.
